Sweet and Sour Turkey Meatballs is an easy 3 ingredient appetizer that can be made ahead of time in your slow cooker. I use frozen turkey meatballs, grape jelly, and BBQ sauce to make these yummy tasting meatballs!

I'm going to be using my slow cooker a lot in the Summertime so get ready for a lot of slow cooker recipes! Do you use your slow cooker in the Summertime? Let me know in the comments below.  This is one super simple recipe and only requires 3 ingredients. The combination of grape jelly and chili sauce may seem a bit odd to you but trust me they aren't. With those two ingredients combined the sauce is like a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. This sauce would also be a good marinade for some chicken.

If you don't want to use frozen turkey meatballs you can make your own meatballs. I have a recipe for 1 smart point meatballs on this blog and it makes a lot. Probably enough for this recipe.  Once you are done making my recipe for meatballs just place them in the slow cooker with the sauce ingredients and follow the recipe below for cooking times.  These meatballs will cook through in the sauce and would make a perfect appetizer for any kind of party that you might have coming up. I used sesame seeds for the garnish.

1 Smart Point Meatball Recipe

How to Make Sweet and Sour Meatballs:

  1. Add the grape jelly and bbq sauce in a slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the meatballs and stir to coat the meatballs. Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 ½ hours, stirring once or twice during the cook time.
  3. Serve warm.

Instant Pot Instructions:

  1. Add the meatballs to your Instant Pot.
  2. Add the grape jelly and BBQ sauce over the meatballs, but do not stir.
  3. Place lid on Instant Pot, and turn vent to Sealing position, then hit PRESSURE COOK for 5 minutes.

Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Meatballs:

When I made this recipe below I did not have my own recipe for meatballs on my blog but now I do. I posted the link above with the directions on how to cook them in this sauce.

Grape Jelly - The only way to keep this recipe low points is to use sugar-free grape jelly. I used Smucker's Concord Reduced Sugar Grape Jelly.

BBQ Sauce - G Hughes has a really great sugar free BBQ sauce. When I tried it I couldn't really taste the difference. Use their Hickory flavor BBQ sauce.

The top of the recipe states cooking time of 5 hours and at the bottom of recipe it states cooking time is 3 1/2 hours. Which is correct?
