    Ingredients Needed for Baked Ravioli

    • 1 (16-oz) package Cheese Ravioli - Use your favorite cheese, beef, spinach, or other ravioli variety. Frozen ravioli makes this recipe especially convenient.
    • 2 cups marinara sauce - This creates the rich, creamy base for the baked ravioli and keeps the pasta moist while it cooks.
    • ⅓ cup cream cheese
    • 2 tsp. fresh thyme leaves, chopped
    • ¼ cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped
    • ½ cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
    • olive oil

    How to Make Baked Ravioli

    1. Preheat the oven to 350º. Pour a small amount of oil in an 8x8 inch baking dish and swirl so the bottom is covered.
    2. Boil a large pot of water and place ravioli carefully in the water, letting them cook for about 2-3 minutes or just until tender. Carefully drain.
    3. Meanwhile, whisk the marinara sauce and cream cheese in a large bowl. Add in the parsley and thyme.
    4. Cover the bottom of the baking dish with ravioli. Spoon some sauce over the top and a light sprinkle of cheese. Repeat layers until all the ravioli and sauce is used. Cover the top with the remaining cheese.
    5. Cover with foil and bake until the sauce bubbles and the cheeses on top melt, about 30 minutes. Carefully spoon onto plates, sprinkle ravioli with a little extra parmesan and chopped parsley and enjoy!
    6. Serving size: 1 cup.

Pro Tips for Creamy Baked Ravioli

If using frozen ravioli, check the package instructions to determine whether it needs to be thawed first. Many frozen ravioli varieties can be baked directly from frozen, but cooking times may vary.

Don't skimp on the sauce. The ravioli needs enough sauce to cook properly and stay creamy.

For extra cheesy baked ravioli, add a little more mozzarella during the final few minutes of baking.

You can also add cooked ground beef, Italian sausage, shredded chicken, or vegetables if you want to make this a more substantial meal.

Allow the ravioli to rest for a few minutes after baking. It will be very hot when it comes out of the oven.

    Storage

Store leftover creamy baked ravioli in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.

Reheat individual portions in the microwave until warmed through. You can also reheat larger portions in the oven. Add a little extra sauce if the ravioli seems dry after refrigeration.

For the best texture, avoid repeatedly reheating the entire casserole. Reheat only the portion you plan to eat.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve Creamy Baked Ravioli with a simple green salad for an easy weeknight dinner. Garlic bread or breadsticks are also delicious alongside the creamy pasta.

Roasted vegetables such as broccoli, zucchini, or asparagus make an easy side dish and add some color to the meal.

For a family dinner, serve the ravioli directly from the baking dish and let everyone add extra Parmesan or fresh herbs to their plate.

I used a 25 oz bag of ravioli instead with a whole jar of spaghetti sauce, and 4 oz cream cheese. I used a pan a little smaller than an 8X13 pan. It turned out perfect. Very Good!

      Hi,

Thanks for the yummy recipe! I add ground beef into this dish, do I need to precooked it first before baking? If so, how long should I cook it for?
