Need a fast breakfast with zero cleanup? Try making frozen waffles in the air fryer! Whether you're team Eggo, gluten-free, or Belgian-style, the air fryer gives them a golden, toasted crunch — no toaster required.

I tested several kinds of frozen waffles and found that air frying works best for making them evenly crispy on the outside while staying soft inside. It's also the perfect method if you're heating up more than two at a time or hate when your toaster burns the edges.

The air fryer is known for its ability to produce crispy and evenly cooked food with less oil and fat. Enjoy your air-fried frozen waffles, knowing you’ve made a tasty and efficient choice to start your meal.

    Air Fryer Frozen Waffles

Frozen waffles are simple to make in the air fryer. Just like any other frozen food item like Air Fryer Arby's Frozen Curly Fries or Air Fryer Frozen Vegetables

While you're waiting for your frozen waffles to cook in the air fryer heat up some breakfast food on your griddle!

Ingredients Needed for Air Fryer Frozen Waffles

    • 1 box or container of frozen waffles (I used a frozen protein waffle from Target)
    • Maple Syrup
    • Whipped Topping
    • Fruit of choice

    Equipment:

    • Air fryer
    • parchment paper
    • Tongs or a spatula

    Substitution Tips

    • Low-carb waffles like Birch Benders need less time - check at 3 minutes.
    • Kodiak Cakes or protein waffles may benefit from a light mist of oil to prevent drying out.
    • Gluten-free options cook well but can get crumbly - use parchment paper for easy cleanup.

How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Waffles

Step 1 Preheat the Air Fryer: Begin by preheating your air fryer to 350°F (200°C).

Step 2 Place some parchment paper down in your air fryer basket and add the frozen waffles. They do not need to be thawed.

    Pro Tips

    1. Preheating ensures that the fries cook evenly and achieve the desired crispiness.
    2. Avoid Overcrowding: Cooking in smaller batches will help the fries cook more evenly and get crispier.
    3. Shaking the Basket: Shaking the basket halfway through cooking helps ensure that all the fries cook evenly.
    4. Experiment with Seasonings: Feel free to experiment with different seasonings like garlic powder, paprika, or Cajun spice to add an extra kick to your fries.

    Recipe FAQS

Can you stack frozen waffles in the air fryer?

Nope — they need space to crisp. Cook in a single layer for best texture.

Do you need to thaw waffles first?

Not at all! Straight from freezer to fryer is perfect.
