Cooking eggs in the air fryer is one of the easiest ways to make soft, jammy, or hard-boiled eggs without boiling water on the stove.
After testing several batches of eggs in my air fryer, I found that small changes in cooking time make a big difference in texture. Just a couple of extra minutes can turn a creamy jammy yolk into a fully cooked hard-boiled egg.

If you’re looking for a simple method that works consistently, this guide shows exactly how long to cook soft eggs, jammy eggs, and hard-boiled eggs in the air fryer.

Air Fryer Egg Timing Chart for 250
The exact timing can vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and egg size, but these times worked consistently during testing at 250°F.

| Egg Style | Time | Texture |
|---|---|---|
| Soft eggs | 11–12 min | Runny yolk |
| Jammy eggs | 13 min | Creamy yolk |
| Hard boiled | 16–17 min | Fully set yolk |
Ingredients Needed

Large Eggs - Use large eggs straight from the carton. They do not need to be at room temperature and you do not need water or ice cubes inside the air fryer. You will need an ice bath after cooking which helps them peel easier.
How to Make Hard-Boiled Eggs in Air Fryer
Step 1: Place some cold eggs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, set the timer to 16 minutes and temperature 250 and let the air fryer cook them. So easy and simple to make.

Step 2: When they are done instantly transfer the eggs to an ice bath or cold water bath to stop the cooking. Then peel and enjoy!

Use some Everything But the Bagel Seasoning to top the eggs with, or eat them however you like. Make some deviled eggs or an egg salad sandwich with these.
Jammy Eggs in Air Fryer
Jammy eggs are one of the most popular egg textures because the yolk stays thick, creamy, and slightly runny.
To make jammy eggs:
- Preheat the air fryer to 250°F
- Cook eggs for 13 minutes
- Transfer immediately to an ice bath
When sliced open, the yolk should be soft and custardy while the whites remain fully set. Serve on toasted buttered bread and top it with some Onion chili crunch!

Soft Boiled Eggs in Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 250°F
- Cook eggs for 11 - 12 minutes.
- Transfer immediately to an ice bath. Please note soft boiled eggs will be harder to peel!

Tips for Easy Peeling
Sometimes boiled eggs can be difficult to peel even jammy ones especially if the egg white is still warm! These tips help make the process easier.
- Use slightly older eggs - Eggs that are about 1–2 weeks old tend to peel better than very fresh eggs.
- Don’t skip the ice bath - Cooling the eggs quickly helps separate the egg white from the shell.
- Crack the wide end first - The air pocket is usually at the wider end of the egg, which makes peeling easier.

Recipe FAQs
If the egg whites are still soft or slightly translucent, the eggs likely need a little more cooking time. Air fryer temperatures can vary between models, so adding one extra minute of cook time usually solves the problem.
Egg yolks cook quickly once they reach a certain temperature. Even one or two extra minutes in the air fryer can turn a jammy yolk into a fully cooked yolk. If you prefer creamy jammy eggs, try sticking close to the 13-minute timing at 250°F.
Yes, the ice bath is important. Placing the eggs in ice water stops the cooking process immediately, which helps prevent overcooked yolks and also makes the eggs easier to peel.

Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs
- Prep Time: 2min

- Method: Air Fry
- Cuisine: American
Description
Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs - are so easy you'll never make them on your stove top again!
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs (cold)
Instructions
- Set your wire rack that came with your air fryer inside the basket and place the eggs on top of the wire rack. If your air fryer didn't come with a wire rack then just place them in the bottom of the air fryer basket. I've done it with and without that and both methods work. I just find that the wire rack is easier to lift them all out of the basket at once.
- Set the temp to 250 (121 C) and the timer to 16 minutes. After the eggs are done in the air fryer take them out and put them in an ice water bath to stop the cooking. Peel the eggs and enjoy!
- For Jammy eggs - Set the temperature to 250 and air fry for 13 minutes. Remove eggs immediatly into an ice bath.

Thanks for sharing this!! Don’t think I will ever boil eggs on my cooktop again!! This method is a no brainer!! Did two eggs to trial it and followed it to the tee. Works like a charm!

Great way to make boiled eggs. We have tried many recipes and tricks to get good results. This method makes it easier than boiling or using a big instapot, etc. Pkus the ice bath is a must to stop the cooking and also help the shells come off. In fact we crack the shells slightly on the rim of the bowl and dip them back into the ice water to let some water slip between the shell and the egg which helps the shell slide off.

I love my air fryer, which our household uses just about everyday! I recently had switched to making my "hardboiled" eggs in an InstaPot, which has a consistently perfect cook. However, when I ran across the idea of cooking hardboiled eggs in my air fryer I had to try it. I'm so glad I did! My first try was cooking six eggs (straight from the fridge), placed on a rack in my Innsky Air Fryer (1700 watts), and cooked at 270 for 15-mins (no pre-heat). I was quite happy with the end result; only one egg had developed a thin 1/2-in crack (egg did not leak out), the whites were not rubbery (most peeled perfectly), and the yolk cook/texture was like a 9-min egg (almost fully cooked, but with a small dark yellow medium cook spot). I like this level of cook for half cut eggs for something like a Cobb salad. However, I used this batch of cooked eggs for egg salad, so it made mixing the egg yokes with mayo slightly challenging. I think the next time I cook air fryer "hardboiled" eggs for egg salad/deviled eggs, I will cook it for an additional minute (a total of 16-mins). Why I like this air fryer method; I don't have to take out my InstaPot (my air fyer lives on my kitchen counter) and there's no special clean up (the InstaPot requires washing out the pot, trivet, and top).

A tad over cooked, but worked perfectly! I have a Corsoi air fryer, 1700 watts. Put 4 eggs in, 250 at 16 mins, and they came out great! Most definitely my go to recipe for hard boiled eggs moving forward.
