Frozen Peanut Butter Cups (Weight Watchers)

Frozen Peanut Butter Cups is a simple 2 ingredient dessert that doesn't require any baking and takes no time at all to make.

Frozen peanut butter cups with chocolate sauce on a grey plate.

The 2 ingredients used are peanut butter and Cool Whip and all you do is mix together the peanut butter and cool whip in a bowl and evenly divide the dessert into muffin tins. This an old WW dessert that I found about a year ago (back in 2011). I like re-discovering old recipes like this and you forget how good they tasted.

You can make mini peanut butter cups using a 24 muffin cup pan or 12 peanut butter cups using a standard muffin pan.

Sometimes I just mix in the peanut butter inside the Cool Whip and just eat it with a spoon right out of the fridge. It's so good and could be used as frosting for a chocolate cake.

    Ingredients for Peanut Butter Cups

Ingredients needed for peanut butter cups.

Cool Whip - A frozen whipped topping that is found in the freezer section of the grocery store. I like it a lot because I’m lazy and don’t like beating heavy cream to making whipped cream. 😉

PB2 can be subbed for regular peanut butter. If you're wondering what PB2 is it is just powdered peanut butter and can usually be found next to the other peanut butter in your grocery store. Buy it on Amazon here.

See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to Make Peanut Butter Cups

Step 1: Combine Cool Whip and peanut butter in a bowl.

Cool whip and peanut butter powder mixed in a bowl.

Recipe Tip: I mixed these two items together in the same container the Cool Whip came in.

Step 2: Line mini muffin pan with 24 mini cupcake liners and spoon in the mixture.

Frozen peanut butter mixture in mini muffin tins.

Place in freezer for 2 to 3 hrs.

Toppings for Frozen Peanut Butter Cups

I used some light dessert topping and drizzled some Hershey's chocolate syrup over the frozen peanut butter cups.  Don't they look cute? They taste like Reese's Peanut Butter Cup without all the fat.

You could also sprinkle some chocolate shavings on top or drizzle more peanut butter on them. I've used these 2 ingredients and added it to a store bought cookie pie crust. So good!

    Recipe FAQS

    What is PB2 powder?

PB2 is a brand of powdered peanut butter that is made by pressing peanuts to remove most of the oil and fat, and then grinding them into a fine powder. It can be rehydrated with water to create a lower-fat, lower-calorie alternative to traditional peanut butter

What does frozen peanut butter taste like?

Frozen peanut butter has a different texture and consistency compared to room temperature peanut butter. It may also have a slightly different taste due to the freezing process.

    How do I store leftovers?

Keep the frozen peanut butter cups in the muffin tins they were made or take them out and put them in a storage container.

PB2 is powdered peanut butter. You can find it usually next to the other peanut butter in the store.
