Iโ€™ve made this on busy weeknights and even for meal prep, and it always hits. The Blackstone gives you that slightly smoky, restaurant-style flavor thatโ€™s hard to get on the stove.

    Ingredients Needed for Blackstone Chicken Lo Mein

    • Egg noodles or spaghetti noodles, cooked
    • Olive oil - Look for olive oils that are labeled as extra virgin, cold-pressed, and unfiltered for the highest quality.
    • Garlic, minced - Chopped fresh garlic can take some time to chop so I often always use the freshly minced garlic that comes already made in a jar.
    • Bell pepper, juliennedโ€™
    • Onion, sliced
    • Carrot, julienned
    • Reduced-sodium soy sauce, or more, to taste - Use a Low Sodium or if you donโ€™t have that on hand go for Tamari or Coconut Amino Acids
    • Brown sugar - Balances out the saltiness of the sauces
    • Sesame oil - A little goes a long way for flavor
    • Ground ginger - just like the prechopped minced garlic I like to get the grated ginger in the tubes that you can just squeeze out.
    • Sriracha, or more, to taste - or hot sauce
    • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    How to Make Chicken Lo Mein on a Blackstone

    Step 1 Preheat the Griddle: Preheat your griddle over medium-high heat.

    Step 2 Make Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, ginger and Sriracha; set aside.

    Step 3 Boil Noodles: In a large pot of boiling water, cook noodles according to package instructions; drain well.


    Step 4 Heat olive oil over medium high heat on an outdoor griddle. Add garlic, mushrooms, bell pepper and carrot. Cook, stirring frequently, until tender, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in snow peas and spinach until the spinach has wilted, about 2-3 minutes.

    Step 5: Stir in egg noodles and soy sauce mixture, and gently toss to combine

    • Donโ€™t overcrowd the griddle or your noodles will steam instead of crisp
    • Let the noodles sit for a minute before stirring to get that slight char
    • Use pre-cooked or leftover protein to save time
    • Taste before adding extra soy sauce โ€” it can get salty fast
    • Prep everything ahead of time because this cooks quickly

    Storage

    • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days
    • Reheat on the Blackstone or in a skillet for best texture
    • Microwave works, but the noodles will be softer

    Description

    Lo mein is a popular Chinese dish that has gained international acclaim for its delicious blend of flavors and textures and it can easily be made on a griddle or Blackstones. The term "lo mein" translates to "tossed noodles," which refers to the cooking method used to prepare this dish.


    Ingredients

    • 8 ounces lo mein egg noodles*
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce, or more, to taste
    • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • ยฝ teaspoon ground ginger
    • ยฝ teaspoon Sriracha, or more, to taste
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 red bell pepper, juliennedโ€™
    • 1 medium onion, sliced
    • 1 carrot, julienned
    • 1 pound of chicken breasts, cut into chunksย 


    Instructions

    In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, Sriracha, and garlic; set aside.

    Serve immediately.ย 


    Notes

    This recipe is very versatile and you can mix in whatever vegetables you like like snow peas, spinach, or broccoli. Even mushrooms.
