- Drained whole kernel corn - I like the combo of whole corn and cream style corned in this recipe. It makes for a nice soft and fluffy texture.
- Cream-style corn - is a delicious and creamy side dish made from sweet corn kernels that have been processed to release their natural juices, creating a rich and velvety texture.
- Sour cream - can also sub plain Non Fat Greek Yogurt for more protein!
- Melted butter - is the most commonly used type of butter in baking, as it allows for more control over the amount of salt in the recipe.
- Package corn muffin mix - or Jiffy Corn Mix, is a convenient and versatile pantry staple that allows you to easily whip up delicious corn muffins in no time. Recipe Tips and Tricks
How do I store leftovers? Always store leftovers in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesn’t really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic, whatever! Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container. Choose ripe bananas: Use ripe bananas for your pudding as they will be sweeter and have a softer texture, which blends well with the other ingredients.
Wrap the casserole dish tightly with saran wrap and refrigerate if there are any leftovers.
Balance the flavors: Corn casserole can be sweet from the corn and savory from other ingredients like cheese or herbs. Make sure to balance the sweetness with a bit of salt and pepper to enhance the overall taste.
Get the texture right: The key to a great corn casserole is achieving the perfect texture. Mix the ingredients thoroughly but avoid overmixing to keep the casserole light and fluffy. Bake it until the top is golden brown for a delicious crunch.
Instead of a casserole dish use a cast iron skillet or pie dish that is 8X8 or 9X9 inches.
Spray the casserole dish with non stick cooking spray.
Garnish the casserole with green onion, bacon, jalapenos, or green chilies.
Add some cayenne pepper for some heat.
