💛 Why You’ll Love This Recipe

As someone who loves fast, flavorful meals without sacrificing quality, I can honestly say: these lamb chops are a game-changer. The air fryer gives them that beautiful seared crust while locking in moisture—no need to fire up the grill or dirty extra pans.

Ribeye or Sirloin (How to Grill Top Sirloin Steak) is similar to lamb and almost have the same type of cooking style methods.

Make sure and get the lamb chops at Aldi in their frozen section. They are fantastic.

The rosemary-garlic flavor is classic and elegant, and the whole thing comes together with just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep. If you’ve been intimidated by cooking lamb at home, this recipe is about to change that.

    Ingredients Needed

    • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
    • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    • 2 ½ pounds  rack of lamb, excess fat trimmed and cut into chops

Some optional ingredients to add to your marinade - red wine vinegar, fresh lemon juice, other types of herbs such as herbs de Provence, garlic powder (for more garlicky flavor)

    Substitution Tips

    • Use thyme or oregano instead of rosemary for a different twist.
    • Don’t have fresh garlic? Use ½ teaspoon garlic powder in the rub.
    • For a lighter version, reduce olive oil to 2 teaspoons.

🔪How to Make Air Fryer Lamb Chops

    1. Preheat Air Fryer to 380 degrees
    2. In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme,  1 teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon pepper; set aside ¼ cup of the mixture in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
    3. In a gallon size Ziploc bag or large bowl, combine lamb chops and remaining olive oil mixture; marinate for at least 3 hours, turning the bag occasionally. Drain the lamb chops from the marinade.
    4. Using paper towels, pat both sides of the lamb chops dry; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
    5. Place Lamb Chops in a single layer in your air fryer basket for 10 minutes, flip half way through.

    Serving Suggestions

    • Serve with roasted potatoes, Traeger Smoked Asparagus, or Air Fryer Baked Potatoes.
    • Pair with a side of couscous or quinoa for a complete Mediterranean-style meal.
    • Add a dollop of mint yogurt sauce or tzatziki for extra flavor.

    💭Tips for using Air Fryers

The air fryer is so great for cooking simple basic food like air fryer bacon wrapped chicken breast, Air Fryer Steak Fajitas, and eggs. Cook up some air fryer chicken breasts for the week and use the chicken for quesadillas, salads, or DIY Chipotle burrito bowls to use for lunch or dinner.

Overcrowding: Do not overcrowd the basket. Place items in a single layer in the air fryer basket or some food will not cook properly or all the way through.

Oil: One of the reasons why air fryers are so great is because food doesn’t need a lot of oil. Especially frozen food. Just a small amount is fine or use Cooking Spray.

    Serving Suggestions

    • With roasted vegetables: Air fryer carrots, Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts with Bacon, or Air Fryer Asparagus make great sides.
    • Over mashed potatoes: Classic and comforting.
    • With a fresh salad: Arugula, feta, and lemon vinaigrette pair beautifully with rich lamb.
    • With couscous or quinoa: For a light, herby grain base.
    • With tzatziki sauce: Cool, creamy, and perfect with savory lamb.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to marinate lamb chops before air frying?

A simple rub with oil, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper is enough for tons of flavor.
But if you have extra time, marinating can make them even more tender and flavorful.

Can I use frozen lamb chops?

You can, but for the best texture and flavor, thaw them first.
Frozen chops tend to cook unevenly in the air fryer.

    Does Aldi Sell lamb?

Why yes they do. You can even get lamb chops there from time to time.

Do I need to preheat my air fryer?

Some air fryers require preheating and some do not. Be sure to check your air fryer manual.  If the food ever burns or doesn’t cook properly this could be why the recipe didn’t work for you.
