Air Fryer Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies

Bacon-Wrapped Little Smokies aka Meat Candy is the perfect party appetizer with only 4 ingredients. Air fryer and oven instructions are included.

The first time I ever had these Bacon Wrapped Smokies with brown sugar, somebody had brought them for Treat Day and they were referred to as Meat Candy. Everyone loved them. At my old job, we had Treat Day every Thursday at 9:30am. One person would take turns bringing snacks for the week and usually, our treat day team had the most elaborate gourmet snack food. Other teams would just bring donuts, bagels, or cookies, not like there’s anything wrong with those items either.

If you brought anything that included bacon in it, that ended up being devoured by the whole team. That is probably where I got addicted to bacon being one of my favorite items to cook with.

Ingredients for Little Smokies

Little Smokies – Any 14oz package or brand will work

Bacon  – Cut each slice of bacon in half or in thirds. You might not end up using all the bacon to wrap the smokies in.

Sugar  – must be brown sugar (I have not tried this with sugar substitutes)

How to Make Bacon Wrapped Smokies with Brown Sugar

For the full recipe please see the recipe card below.

Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees.

Cut strips of bacon into about 1 inch to 2 length. Wrap the bacon around the little smokies and insert a tooth pick into them to keep the bacon from falling off.

In a bowl combine the brown sugar, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.

Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the little smokies

Place in air fryer and cook for 10 minutes. If using an oven, bake at 350 degrees for 10 -15 minutes. Best served warm.
