Garlic Butter Shrimp and Salmon Foil Packets

I'm kind of sad that grilling season is almost over with, but at the same time, I am looking forward to Fall and pumpkin season! Next month will be full of pumpkin and apple recipes, I promise,  but I got one last grilling recipe for you all and it is so delicious! Shrimp and salmon are my 2 favorites and protein/seafood of choice. Love these two combos together.

    Ingredients Needed

    • Salmon is a popular fish known for its delicate flavor and tender texture. It is considered to be one of the healthiest foods due to its high content of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health. Salmon can be prepared in a variety of ways, such as grilled, baked, or smoked, making it a versatile ingredient for many dishes.
    • Shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • Softened butter - is the most commonly used type of butter in baking, as it allows for more control over the amount of salt in the recipe.
    • Garlic cloves - Chopped fresh garlic can take some time to chop so I often always use the freshly minced garlic that comes already made in a jar.
    • Seasoning salt (to taste)
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
    • Lemon - Adds a nice burst of citrus flavor to the fish.
    • Fresh Parsley for garnish (optional)
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

    How to Make Foil Packets

    1. Season salmon with salt and salt and pepper.
    2. Transfer salmon to piece of tinfoil large enough to hold the salmon and shrimp.
    3. Season shrimp with salt and pepper
    4. Transfer to tinfoil and place on top of salmon
    5. In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, lemon pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, and fresh garlic.  Add a tablespoon on top of the shrimp and salmon.
    6. Close up the sides of the tinfoil so that the salmon and shrimp are completely covered by it.
    7. Grill or Bake the salmon and shrimp foil packets.  Grill on high for 5 to 7 minutes or bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Squeeze some lemon juice over top and enjoy!

    Optional Ingredients

Add some fresh vegetables such as zucchini, corn,  bell peppers,  green beans or lemon wedges for serving

Just use spices that you have in pantry if you don't want to make your own seasoning. Old bay seasoning or cajun seasoning would be great.  Add some red pepper flakes for extra heat.

For extra protein add in some sausage it would be almost like a shrimp boil.

The tinfoil makes the clean up pretty easy!

    Recipe FAQS

Can I make my own seasoning salt?

When you have a bunch of spices in your cabinet that you need to get rid of or you just feel like being creative, throw them all together in a jar and you will have a brand new seasoning blend that you can call your own. That is exactly what I did with this seasoning salt recipe and it was so good. I combined lemon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little cayenne pepper to give this a nice little kick. I've tested this seasoning on shrimp, salmon, and chicken so far and it is really tasty.  I mixed it together with my garlic butter recipe and it is now my go-to seasoning recipe that you might start seeing a lot on this site.

    Grill or Bake?

You can grill or bake these foil packets, the choice is up to you. I grilled mine on high heat for 5 to 7 minutes and the salmon and shrimp were cooked perfectly. If you bake them I'd do it at a high heat like at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.

Quick, easy, and simply delicious (even made the "epic seasoning")! The next time, I had my husband (who is all thumbs in the kitchen) make it for us. Slam Dunk!! Can't thank you enough!

Trying to eat healthy for my family and I am not a cook. I followed your receipt and the sauce at the bottom. BROOOO sooo good. My kids hate salmon and shrimp. They ate all of it and fought for the last 3 shrimp. I was worried about the cook time and shrimp being over cooked. I put all on a pan since we don't have a lot of foil. I covered it tight like you said. Perfect. I could not ask for a better or easier receipt. From my fat family to your healthier fam, thank you for the bottom of our belly's. Seriously thank you for the help.
