Ingredients Needed for Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

    • 2 pounds chicken wings - Fresh or thawed chicken wings work best. You can use whole wings or wings that have already been separated into flats and drumettes.
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil - can sub olive oil or canola oil
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter -A small amount of melted butter makes the sauce rich and silky while helping it coat the wings evenly.
    • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour - to help thicken the sauce
    • ¼ cup honey - adds natural sweetness while creating a delicious sticky glaze that coats every wing.
    • ¼ cup Sriracha - provides the signature spicy flavor. Adjust the amount depending on how much heat you enjoy.
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce - can sub Worcestershire Sauce
    • Juice of 1 lime

Equipment: Air fryer, parchment paper, Tongs or a spatula

How to Make Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

Step 1 Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.

Step 2 Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Stir in honey, Sriracha, soy sauce and lime juice. Bring to a boil; simmer until slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes.

Frozen chicken wings in air fryer basket.

Step 3 In a large bowl, combine wings, butter, vegetable oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper, to taste.

    Honey sauce melted in pan.

Place wings in air fryer basket and air fry for 20 minutes, using metal tongs to turn at halftime.

Brush wings with Sriracha glaze and broil for 3-4 minutes, or until crisp and crusted.

Serve immediately, garnished with cilantro and sesame seeds, if desired.

    Pro Tips for Chicken Wings

    • Pat the wings completely dry before seasoning for the crispiest skin.
    • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
    • Flip the wings halfway through cooking for even browning.
    • Toss the wings in the sauce immediately after cooking while they are still hot.
    • Add more honey for a sweeter glaze or extra sriracha for additional heat.
    • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the wings reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

    Storage

Store leftover honey sriracha chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

To reheat, place the wings in the air fryer at 375°F for 4 to 6 minutes until heated through and crispy again.

Freeze cooled wings in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

    Serving Suggestions

Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings pair well with celery sticks, carrot sticks, ranch dressing, or blue cheese dressing. Serve them alongside French fries, potato wedges, onion rings, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, or a fresh garden salad for a complete meal.

These wings are also perfect for football parties, holiday gatherings, potlucks, and backyard cookouts.
