My second favorite meal ever is a recipe for spaghetti and meat sauce and one of the best side dishes to have with spaghetti and meat sauce is homemade garlic bread. Stop buying frozen garlic bread and make your own garlic bread in the air fryer! It takes less than 6 minutes to cook and the bread browns really nice.

    WW Friendly Garlic Bread

I used light butter for this since it is already softened and can be easily scooped up with a tablespoon measure. To make a WW friendly piece of garlic bread, use I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray and sprinkle the bread with some garlic salt or seasoning. The Butter spray is 0 points for 20 sprays. Will bring the bread down to 4 points per slice.

I still included the points for the light butter down below in the recipe.

How to stop Air Fryer From Smoking

So here’s a little trick I’ve learned that will help you out if your air fryer starts smoking. Butter can be quite tricky to work with in an air fryer because the butter can cause it to smoke. At least it does in my Power Air Fryer. Let me know if you’ve had trouble with this below with the air fryer you are currently using. This also happens with hamburger patties because of the fat.

A trick I’ve recently learned to help stop this from happening is to add a little bit of water to the bottom of your air fryer basket.

    Grocery List

Here is the basic rundown of what is needed for this dish. I’ve also included substitutes that can be used if you do not have any of these items.

Bread - crusty bread such as an Italian Loaf, Ciabatta, or french bagutte

Butter - always use room temperature butter. It is easier to spread on the bread.

Garlic - I’m not a fan of chopping fresh garlic. Your fingers get stinky and that is why I prefer the garlic already chopped up in a jar. Easy to scoop out with some measuring spoons.

Seasonings:   Most garlic bread recipes call for adding freshly chopped parsley. Chives would also work with this.

How to make Air Fryer Garlic Bread

Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, add the softened butter, garlic, salt, and parsley. Mix well to combine.

Cut ciabatta bread in half lengthwise. Then slice the bread into 4 equal parts.

Use a spatula or knife or spread the butter on top of the bread.

Before placing the bread in your air fryer basket, add a few tablespoons of water to the bottom of your basket to prevent the air fryer from smoking.

Place the bread in the basket and close it. Set the timer for 6 minutes. Check half ways through to see if the bread is starting to turn brown.

At this point, if you want to add any cheese to the bread, now is the time to do that. Close the air fryer basket again and continue cooking for another 3 minutes.

I’ve included a list of recipes that will go well with the garlic bread. For a veggie, I’d serve up a quick side salad.
