    Ingredients Needed

Ingredients needed for Air Fryer Garlic Bread

Here is the basic rundown of what is needed for this dish. I’ve also included substitutes that can be used if you do not have any of these items.

    • Bread - The best bread for garlic bread is typically a French or Italian bread with a firm crust and a soft, chewy interior. Baguettes are a popular choice, as are ciabatta and sourdough loaves.
    • Butter - always use room temperature butter. It is easier to spread on the bread.
    • Garlic - I’m not a fan of chopping fresh garlic. Your fingers get stinky and that is why I prefer the garlic already chopped up in a jar. Easy to scoop out with some measuring spoons.
    • Garlic Bread Seasonings -  It typically includes garlic powder, salt, parsley, and sometimes additional seasonings like oregano or red pepper flakes.

See recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How to make Air Fryer Garlic Bread

Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees.

Step 1: In a bowl, add the softened butter, garlic, salt, and parsley. Mix well to combine.

Step 2: Cut ciabatta bread in half lengthwise. Then slice the bread into 4 equal parts.

Butter, garlic, and seasoning mixed together in a bowl spread on the bread.

Use a spatula or knife or spread the butter on top of the bread.

Note: Before placing the bread in your air fryer basket, add a few tablespoons of water to the bottom of your basket to prevent the air fryer from smoking. This is optional.

Step 3: Place the bread in the basket and close it. Set the timer for 6 minutes. Check half ways through to see if the bread is starting to turn brown.

At this point, if you want to add any cheese to the bread, now is the time to do that. Close the air fryer basket again and continue cooking for another 3 minutes.

    Best Air Fryer Tips

The air fryer is so great for cooking simple basic food like air fryer steak, air fryer hard-boiled eggs, and air fryer bacon. Cook up some air fryer chicken breasts for the week and use it chicken quesadillas.

Overcrowding: Do not overcrowd the basket. Place items in a single layer in the air fryer basket or some food will not cook properly or all the way through.

Use a spray oil such as Pam to get food extra crispy and to save on calories.

Use parchment paper on the bottom of your air fryer for easy clean up.

    Recipe FAQs

How long does garlic bread take in the air fryer?

Garlic bread doesn't not take long at all in the air fryer. Only 5 - 8 minutes. It's very much like heating up a frozen pizza in the air fryer.

Can you air fry garlic bread?

Yes you can air fry garlic bread, even the frozen kind. It takes only 5 minutes in the air fryer.

Do I need to preheat an air fryer?

Some air fryers require preheating and some do not. Be sure to check your air fryer manual.

What air fryer do I use?

I have two air fryers. The Cosori 4 Qt Air Fryer and Ninja Woodfire Grill which is an outdoor air fryer. It’s pretty awesome! It has 5 different functions on it.

How to stop Air Fryer From Smoking

So here’s a little trick I’ve learned that will help you out if your air fryer starts smoking. Butter can be quite tricky to work with in an air fryer because the butter can cause it to smoke. At least it does in my Power Air Fryer. Let me know if you’ve had trouble with this below with the air fryer you are currently using. This also happens with hamburger patties because of the fat.

A trick I’ve recently learned to help stop this from happening is to add a little bit of water to the bottom of your air fryer basket.
