Honeydew Slush - Blended frozen honey dew and mint come together in this refreshing Summer drink!

Are you looking for a quick recipes that are different to make with honey dew melon or literally any other type of melon? Try this method for making frozen honeydew slush at home. It’s quite simple to make in a food processor or blender and turns into this wonder sorbet/slush consistency.

Hurray for Summer drinks! Feel free to add whatever booze you like with this. Some rum would be really good.

    INGREDIENTS

    • Honeydew melon - cubed and then frozen to make the “slush”
    • Water
    • Honey - agave or any type of sweetener will work
    • Fresh Mint Leaves

Additional ingredients - make it an alcoholic drink and add in your favorite kind of vodka!

How to Make Honey Dew Slush

    1. Blend the honey dew and the water until smooth. Add the honey and mint and blend another 10-20 seconds until mostly smooth and the consistency of a slushy.
    2. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.

    Honeydew Slush Tips:

    Can Honey Dew be frozen?

Yes, honey can be frozen!  I first tried this method when I made my 2 ingredient watermelon sorbet recipe and it worked like a charm. Then I started to experiment with other types of fruits such as musk melon, honey dew, and cantaloupe. It turns into a slushy or sorbet when blended in a food processor or blender.

How to cut a honey dew melon?

Stand the melon up on the counter and start trimming away the rind. Cut it in half length wise. Scoop out all the seeds, and then cut it into cubes.

How to tell when honey dew is fresh?

In order to tell if a honey dew melon is fresh I just usually smell it. If it smells like a melon then it is ready to eat.
