Give your burgers a little twist this Summer with some Jerk seasoning and grilled pineapple on top. You will automatically be transported to a tropical island without the expensive plane tickets! 🙂
When I was vacationing in Jamaica, I stayed at an all-inclusive resort and there was a bar in the middle of the pool area outside. You could stay in the pool all day long and sip on cocktails and eat delicious Jerk burgers with fries. The burgers were super good and spicy and anyone can make these at home with some homemade Jerk seasoning.

Ingredients Needed
- Lean Gound beef - Lean ground beef is considered better than higher fat options for several reasons. First, it has less saturated fat, which can contribute to heart disease and other health issues. Additionally, it tends to have fewer calories per serving, making it a good option for those watching their weight.
- Garlic cloves, minced - Chopped fresh garlic can take some time to chop so I often always use the freshly minced garlic that comes already made in a jar.
- Some Jamaican Jerk Seasoning blend
- Pineapple slices, fresh or fresh tomato slices
- Pepper jack cheese or Swiss cheese - Pepper jack cheese is great for adding a bit of spice to sandwiches, burgers, and other dishes. It is also a good source of protein and calcium, making it a nutritious addition to your diet.
- Lettuce leaves or spinach leaves
- Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns or Brioche Buns

How to make Grilled Jerk Burgers
Step 1: Preheat a grill or griddle to medium-high.
Step 2: Mix the cold ground beef, seasoning, and garlic cloves in a medium bowl.
Step 2: Form ground beef into 6-ounce patties and make an indentation in each. Season the patties on both sides with salt and pepper. Lightly brush the grill grates or griddle with vegetable oil, then grill the patties, indentation-side up, until marked on the bottom, about 5 minutes.
Step 3: Flip and cook until marked and slightly firm, about 3 more minutes for medium doneness.
Step 4: While the burgers are grilling, grill the pineapple slices for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until heated through and grill marks appear.
Step 5: For Jerk cheeseburgers, top with 1 slice of pepper jack cheese during the last minute of cooking; cover the grill to melt.
Mix the mayo and minced garlic together in a bowl.
Serve the burgers with a grilled pineapple ring, garlic aioli sauce, and lettuce.

The best hamburger buns can be a personal preference. However, some popular options include brioche buns, potato buns, pretzel buns, and sesame seed buns. It ultimately comes down to the texture, flavor, and size that you prefer for your burger.
Air Fryer Burger Instructions:
If you wish to make these burgers in your air fryer, here are the instructions!
In a large bowl combine beef, garlic, and jerk seasoning. Shape into 4 patties and flatten into a 4” circle. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Place 2 patties in air fryer and cook at 375° for 4 minutes per side, for medium. Remove and immediately top with a slice of cheese. Repeat with the remaining 2 patties.
Some air fryers will start smoking if you cook patties in them. In order to prevent this, just add a little bit of water to the bottom of the air fryer.
