There is something completely magical about the combination of toasted marshmallows, melted chocolate, and crisp graham crackers. It is a nostalgic flavor profile that instantly transports you to summer nights around a campfire. However, you do not need to light a fire or even turn on your oven to enjoy that perfect blend of textures.

These Golden Graham Smores bars take everything you love about the traditional fireside treat and turn it into a simple, crowd-pleasing, no-bake dessert square.

By swapping out standard graham cracker sheets for a crunchy honey-flavored cereal, you get a beautiful distribution of crispy ridges and sweet pockets in every single bite. They are sweet, incredibly gooey, and bound to become a staple in your dessert rotation.

You don't have to start any campfires for this either! Instead of heating up your stove top you can melt the butter and marshmallows in a microwave. Plus, you don't have to wait until summer time to enjoy this either.

Why You Will Like This Recipe

Melted marshmallow mixture, ensuring that every piece stays perfectly chewy and structurally sound.

Adding the chocolate chips at the very end prevents them from melting completely, which gives you distinct pockets of rich chocolate alongside the smooth marshmallow base.

A touch of real butter adds a rich, savory depth that balances the intense sweetness of the marshmallows and sugar.

Because this recipe requires absolutely no oven time, it is an ideal summer dessert that keeps your kitchen cool and comes together in under twenty minutes.

    Ingredients Needed

    Ingredients needed for S'mores bars.
    • Golden Grahams Cereal: You will need eight cups of this crisp cereal to serve as the crunchy, honey-forward foundation of your bars.
    • Miniature Marshmallows: A ten-ounce bag is split during the process, with most melted down to bind the bars and a handful reserved to stir in whole at the end.
    • Milk Chocolate Chips: One and a half cups of high-quality milk chocolate chips provide that authentic, sweet campfire chocolate flavor profile.
    • Unsalted Butter: Five tablespoons of butter are melted down with the marshmallows to add a necessary richness and help the bars stay soft.
    • Non-Stick Cooking Spray
    • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

Step 2: In a large non-stick pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add in marshmallows (reserve ยผ cup of marshmallows if you want to sprinkle them on top of the bars) and 1 cup of chocolate chips. Stir together with butter until everything is melted together and creamy.

Step 3: Fold in Graham cereal until all marshmallows and cereal are evenly coated. Mix in ยผ cup of chocolate chips.

Step 4: Spread the cereal into sprayed baking pan. Press into pan and sprinkle remaining ยผ cup of chocolate chips on top of the treats (optional), lightly press into the top of treats to make sure they stick. Place into the fridge for 10 minutes to cool.

Microwave - You can also melt the marshmallows, chocolate chips, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. I usually do mine for a minute. If it is not done add another 30 seconds until everything is melted.Slice into 12 equal bars. Devour. Serving size: 1 bar.

    Pro Tips Golden Graham S'mores

    • The most important rule when making these bars is to use fresh marshmallows, as older bags will dry out and result in a stiff, unyielding texture.
    • When pressing the mixture into the baking pan, use a very light touch because packing the cereal too firmly will make the bars dense and difficult to chew.
    • If the marshmallow mixture is sticking to your hands or spatula, rub a tiny bit of butter or non-stick cooking spray onto your tools to make the pressing process completely effortless.

    Storage

Keep these treats stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. To preserve their signature texture, place a sheet of parchment paper between stacked layers so they do not fuse together. Avoid storing them in the refrigerator, because the cold ambient air will harden the marshmallows and cause the cereal to lose its delightful crunch prematurely.

    Serving Suggestions

These gooey squares are spectacular when served alongside a cold glass of milk or a hot cup of black coffee to balance the rich sweetness.

If you want to lean into the campfire theme for a party, arrange them on a wooden platter alongside fresh berries or a dish of salty pretzels. For a truly decadent dessert experience, warm a single bar in the microwave for five seconds and top it with a scoop of premium vanilla bean ice cream.
