This WW Party Chex Mix works because it gives you all the crunchy, salty snack flavors you want without requiring a complicated recipe. Everything is tossed together with a simple seasoned mixture and baked until crisp and golden.

Making Chex Mix at home also gives you more control over the ingredients and portions. You can choose lower-calorie cereal and pretzel options, adjust the seasonings to your taste, and portion the finished mix into individual servings.

It is especially handy for parties because you can make a large batch ahead of time and keep it ready for guests. Serve it in a big bowl for a snack table or package individual portions for easy grab-and-go snacking.

Popcorn has been my go-to snack lately and it was time to change it up a bit. I thought about trying this recipe in the slow cooker, but why? All you do is basically melt some butter in the microwave and mix in the spices. Why on Earth would you ever want to put it in your slow cooker? The chex mix cereal would get soggy I think. This Party Chex Mix takes no time to make at all. Mix everything into a bowl, melt the butter and mix the spices and voila. Instant Party Chex mix. Now, I got to stop myself from eating it all!

    Why Choose Party Chex Mix?

Chex Mix has been a beloved snack for decades, known for its crunchy texture and savory flavor. However, traditional recipes can be high in calories and sodium. By opting for a Weight Watchers-friendly version, you can enjoy the same satisfying crunch without the guilt. Plus, it's a versatile snack that caters to various dietary preferences, ensuring that everyone at your party can enjoy it.

    Ingredients Needed for Chex Mix

    • Chex Gluten-Free Corn Cereal: Adds a light, crispy crunch and is a great gluten-free cereal option for this party mix.
    • General Mills Rice Chex: Light and crispy cereal that gives the mix plenty of crunch without making it too heavy.
    • General Mills Wheat Chex: Adds a heartier texture and classic Chex Mix flavor to the recipe.
    • Mixed Salted Dry Roasted Nuts: Adds a salty, crunchy bite and extra texture to the snack mix.
    • Light Butter: Helps coat the cereal and nuts while adding buttery flavor.
    • Worcestershire Sauce: Adds savory, tangy flavor that gives the party mix its classic seasoned taste.
    • Chex Mix Seasoning Packet: Provides a convenient blend of seasonings that brings all the flavors together.
    • Garlic Powder: Adds a subtle savory garlic flavor throughout the mix.
    • Onion Powder: Adds another layer of savory flavor and complements the garlic and seasoning.

How to Make Weight Watchers Chex Mix

    1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). This low temperature ensures that the mix crisps up without burning.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Rice Chex, pretzels and nuts. Gently toss them together until they are well mixed.
    3. In a small saucepan, melt the light butter over low heat. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and seasoning packet. Plus the garlic powder, and onion powder.
    4. Pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring as you go, to ensure even coating.
    5. Spread the mixture onto a large baking sheet in a single layer. This helps everything cook evenly.
    6. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent any sticking or uneven cooking.
    7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before serving. This will enhance the crunchiness of the mix.

    Pro Tips for Chex Mix

Use a large bowl when mixing the ingredients. This gives you plenty of room to toss everything without breaking the cereal.

Stir the Chex Mix during baking. This helps distribute the seasoned butter mixture and keeps the pieces from becoming overly browned on one side.

Don't rush the cooling process. Letting the mixture cool completely allows it to crisp up before you store or serve it.

For easier portion control, divide the finished mix into small snack bags or containers. This makes it much easier to grab a serving without continuously snacking from the bowl.

You can also adjust the seasonings based on your preferences. Add a little smoked paprika for extra flavor or a pinch of cayenne if you like spicy snacks.

    Storage

Store cooled WW Party Chex Mix in an airtight container at room temperature. It should stay crunchy for several days when properly sealed.

Make sure the mixture is completely cool before putting it into a container. Storing it while it is still warm can trap moisture and cause the cereal and pretzels to lose their crunch.

For parties, you can make this snack mix a day or two ahead of time and keep it sealed until you're ready to serve.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve this WW Party Chex Mix as an easy appetizer for game day, holidays, birthdays, or family gatherings. It is also great for movie nights and afternoon snacking.

For parties, place the Chex Mix in a large serving bowl alongside other lighter snack options. You can also portion it into small cups or bags for individual servings.

Pack a portion for an afternoon snack when you want something crunchy and savory. Pair it with fresh fruit or another light snack for a simple snack plate.
