These Easy Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks are made with the famous 2 ingredient dough! Some call it 2 Ingredient Dough or Protein Dough cause it's made with equal parts Greek Yogurt and Self Rising Flour.
This 2 ingredient dough is so amazing and you can make so much with it. Like I've said in a previous post, I've bought so many containers of greek yogurt and when I run out of my self rising flour, I'm just going to go back to all purpose flour because you just need to add a teaspoon of baking powder to the mix. So far, I've made bagels, pizza, and cinnamon rolls and now I'm giving you a recipe for cheesy bread sticks. This is my favorite recipe so far and one bread stick is only 1 smart point. Yes, you can eat cheesy garlic bread sticks on a diet!
After you make the dough, roll it out and transfer it onto a baking sheet. Spray the dough with butter spray. Mix the mozzarella with basil and garlic powder in a bowl and sprinkle that on top of the dough. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. The dough will be golden brown on the bottom. What else could you possible make with this dough? There's endless possibilities and it's so fun to mess around with.

Ingredients Needed
- Greek yogurt - is considered great for a variety of reasons. It is typically higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular yogurt, making it a good choice for those looking to maintain a balanced diet.
- Self rising flour - is a type of flour that already contains baking powder and salt, which are essential ingredients in many baked goods.
- Part skim mozzarella cheese - I like to use Reduced-Fat Cheese because it has a lower calorie count and less saturated fat than regular cheese, but it may also have a different taste and texture. It also helps with keeping the calorie count pretty low for this recipe.Â
- Basil -
- Garlic powder - is made from dehydrated garlic cloves and like the chili powder above it gets pulverized into a powder or flour consistency.
- Butter spray - is lighter and lower in calories than regular butter.
- See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

How big/thick should the rolled out oval be to make the 16 sticks? 🙂
Jenna says
The recipe makes a total of 16. If you get a different amount just adjust the points value and serving size.
Doris says
Love this receipe. I did add some Truvia sweetener. It helps with the sour greek yogurt. How big should the oval dough be and how many bread sticks should you get from it for the 1 pt per stick.
Amands says
Hi Jenna, I want to make these but I'm in Australia and I don't know what butter spray is. Would melted butter brushed over the dough be the same.
Jenna says
Recipe Fixed. There is no baking powder listed in this recipe.
Maggie says
In the directions it doesn't say anything about the garlic powder or the oregano. And self rising flour doesn't need baking powder.
Jenna says
It is baking powder. Sorry.
Helen says
HI Jenna , I was about to stir this up with all purpose flour but when i was reading your notes above you did say when I run out of self rising flour I will add a tsp of. Baking soda to the mix .... is it Baking soda or Baking powder....i just don't want to mess up the bread it sounds yummy
Jenna says
Hi Clara, I don't know what recipe you were looking at, but on the 2 Ingredient dough recipe for homemade self rising flour it says baking powder in the notes section.
Clara Nussbaum says
For the homemade self rising flour, it's 1 cup all purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons BAKING POWDER, not baking soda, 3/4 tsp. salt & 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt..Fage` brand is the best. Use an egg wash to brush over doudh. In your instructions, you said baking soda. Don't make that mistake! I did by accident & the bagels turned out horrible! Brown & tasted like a sponge! I had made a double batch so I could freeze them & ended up throwing them all out!!
