Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken is super simple to make. Instead of ordering take out try this recipe instead. The slow cooker or Instant Pot does all the work for you. I like to serve this with a ½ cup of rice for 3 SmartPoints. I garnished my slow cooker sesame chicken with scallions and sesame seeds.

Ingredients Needed for Slow Cooker Honey Chicken
- Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - They’re lean and quick-cooking and always come out juicy and tender. Use an instant-read thermometer to make sure that the chicken is not over cooked. When reading labels for chicken breasts try to find ones that say Organic or Free Range.
- Honey - Always go for a raw honey and one that is unfiltered. Preferably locally sourced.
- Soy sauce - Use a Low Sodium or if you don’t have that on hand go for Tamari or Coconut Amino Acids
- Ketchup - look for reduced sugar or reduced sodium ketchup
- Dried minced onion - can also sub onion powder
- Vegetable oil - or Canola oil
- Garlic powder - is made from dehydrated garlic cloves and like the chili powder above it gets pulverized into a powder or flour consistency.

How to make Slow Cooker Honey Sesame Chicken Instructions:
Step 1 Spread chicken into the crockpot or a slow cooker.
Step 2 Stir honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced onion, vegetable oil, and garlic powder together in a bowl; pour over the chicken. Cook on Low until the chicken is tender, 3 to 4 hours.
Step 3 Remove chicken from the sauce in the slow cooker to a cutting board. Stir water and cornstarch together to dissolve cornstarch completely; pour into the sauce in the slow cooker until smooth.
Step 4 Cook on High until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Cut chicken into bite-size pieces and stir into the sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken and sauce mixture
Instant Pot Honey Sesame Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, onion, oil, and garlic powder. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your Instant Pot and pour the sauce over chicken. Cover your Instant Pot with the lid on and set to sealing mode.
- Cook on the meat setting for 20 minutes and then quick release once the 20 minutes is up. Remove chicken breasts from pot, leave sauce.
- Dissolve cornstarch in water in a small bowl (mix the 2 ingredients together until the flour has dissolved) and pour into your Instant Pot. Stir to combine with sauce. Push the Saute button and cook sauce for about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.

- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons water
- sesame seeds, optional
Instructions
- Spread chicken into the crock of a slow cooker.

- Cook on Low until the chicken is tender, 3 to 4 hours.
