Frozen mozzarella sticks cooked in an air fryer result in a crispy and delicious snack that is easy to prepare. The air fryer circulates hot air around the sticks, creating a crunchy exterior while keeping the cheese inside gooey and melted. Perfect for a quick and satisfying appetizer or snack.

Why You Will Love This Recipe

I've tried making fresh mozzarella sticks in the air fryer and I kind of gave up doing it. Frozen mozzarella sticks are the way to go I think and they are way better.

Sometimes you don’t always have the time to make homemade mozzarella sticks so frozen is the next best option. I recently got a Costco membership and have been trying out different frozen foods in my air fryer. If you have a Costco membership let me know what foods you want to know how to cook in the air fryer below and I’ll write a post about it.

The Petite Cusine frozen mozzarella sticks from Costco cook up really well in the air fryer, but any kind of frozen mozzarella stick will work with this.

Tips for Air Fryer Frozen Mozzarella Sticks

Some air fryers require preheating and some do not. Be sure to check your air fryer manual.

Overcrowding: Do not overcrowd the basket with mozzarella sticks. Place items in a single layer in the air fryer basket or some food will not cook properly or all the way through.

The cheese will ooze out of the mozzarella sticks the longer you cook them. There's not much you can do to prevent that from stopping.

What to Serve with Mozzarella Sticks?

Make my recipe for Basic Marina Sauce or buy a store-bought dipping sauce such as Rao's.

Serve it with any other appetizer such as Smoked Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Easy Smoked Salmon Dip, or Smoked Queso Dip.

How to make Air Fried Mozzarella Sticks

Step 1: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F. If your air fryer doesn’t require preheating then don’t do that.

Step 2: Place the frozen mozzarella sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Close the lid and set the time for 4 to 7 minutes.

Step 3: Serve with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping, or any type of sauce you enjoy.

How long to air fry Walmart Mozzarella Sticks?

Frozen mozzarella sticks take 4 to 7 minutes in the air fryer at 400 degrees.

What air fryer do I have?

Cosori 4 Qt Air Fryer- This air fryer doesn't require any preheating and has several different functions for cooking chicken, meat, frozen foods, etc. There are 5 different functions.

How to store leftover mozzarella sticks?

Always store leftovers in clean, food-grade containers. The type of container doesn’t really matter. Use zip lock, glass, plastic,  whatever!  Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container before putting it in the freezer or fridge.
