This air fryer poutine recipe is only 3 ingredients and it’s a recipe I like to do when I’m feeling super lazy to cook anything. The fries are cooked in the air fryer and the gravy is a packet that you just add water to it and let it thicken over the stove. Of course, you can always make your own homemade gravy.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
All of these ingredients including the cheese curds can be purchased at Aldi which is a grocery store I’m obsessed with. If you haven’t seen my other site which is all about that store please go over and check it out! I try to share recipes on that website where all the ingredients are from Aldi and talk about all the cool stuff they have there. - Foodie Styling

Ingredients Needed
1 package of frozen french fries (can be any style or cut)
1 1oz packet of gravy mix
1 package of Wisconsin-style cheese curds

How to Make Air Fryer Poutine
Preheat your Air Fryer at 400 degrees.
Place the frozen french fries in the air fryer basket and set the timer for 12 minutes.
Use some parchment paper on the bottom for easy clean up.
While the fries are cooking make the gravy according to the directions on the back of the packet. The one I used said to add 1 cup of cold water plus the packet of gravy mix to a pan and continue stirring it until the gravy is thick and golden brown.
When the fries are ready, place them on a plate. Then the cheese curds and pour the gravy all over the fries. If you want your cheese curds to be all gooey and melted place the plate in the microwave for 1 minute.
Enjoy!
Tips for making the Best Poutine
Make your own beef gravy with beef broth or beef stock , Worcestershire sauce, unsalted butter, and flour in a small saucepan.
Season your french fries with onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, or thyme.
Serve with your favorite condiments like ketchup or ranch dressing.
Sub white cheddar cheese curds or cubed fresh mozzarella chunks.
Add in some mushrooms to the gravy.
Instead of french fries use frozen tater tots.
What is Canadian poutine?
Poutine is a dish served with french fries, cheese curds, and gravy. It originated in Quebec Canada in the late 1950’s.
In America, poutine is sometimes known as Disco Fries.
Poutine is usually a dish served by itself or sometimes you’ll see it at restaurants and it is served with pulled pork or brisket on top of it.
Tips for using Air Fryers
Preheating: Some air fryers require preheating and some do not. Be sure to check your air fryer manual. Mine does not require preheating. If the food ever burns or doesn’t cook properly this could be why the recipe didn’t work for you.
Cooking Times: Please note that all air fryers do not cook the same. Might have to adjust cooking time accordingly. Thank you.
Overcrowding: Do not overcrowd the basket. Some food will not cook properly or all the way through.
Oil: One of the reasons why air fryers are so great is because food doesn’t need a lot of oil. Especially frozen food. Just a small amount is fine or use Cooking Spray
