Veggie burgers made in the air fryer are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional beef burgers. They are made with a variety of plant-based ingredients and cooked to perfection in the air fryer, resulting in a crispy exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior. These burgers are perfect for vegetarians and anyone looking for a nutritious meal option.

    Veggie Taco Burgers

Welcome to another addition of "Meatless Monday." Meatless Monday is my attempt to cut out meat. When thinking about following a certain life style change it is important to slowly get rid of stuff. If you cut everything out at once, you will feel very deprived. In my opinion.

Why You'll Love these Air Fryer Taco Burgers

These Veggie Taco Burgers do not make me miss ground beef at all. In fact, I even had some tacos with ground beef on Tuesday last week for dinner and I was kind of grossed out by them.  Veggie taco burgers are really simple to make. Just take some cooked lentils, black beans, scallions, and a packet of taco seasoning and puree that all in a food processor. Do not process the beans all the way. You can bake the burgers in the oven or on a skillet. Why not grill them?? It's still considered grilling season right?  These taco burgers were great and I had them 5 times last week.

Taco seasoning packets are legit to me and they work. I get the low sodium ones in the store. I've tried making my own homemade taco seasoning and none of the recipes I've tried don't even come close to these taco seasoning packets. Judge me if you want to, but that is how I like taco seasoning, right out of the packet. It's fast and it's easy.

    Ingredients Needed

    • 1 15 oz can of lentils
    • 1 15 oz can of black beans
    • 1 packet of taco seasoning
    • ½ cup of scallions

How to Make Air Fryer Taco Burgers

    1. Add the lentils, black beans, scallions, and taco seasoning to a food processor. Process until well blended but not all the way. You still want some texture and to be able to see the black beans still.
    2. Add the burger mix to a bowl and start shaping the burgers into patties. I just used to my hands or you can use jar rings to shape them.
    3. Bake the burgers in the oven at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or on a skillet. 2 to 4 minutes per side. Enjoy
    4. Air Fryer Instructions: Set the temperature to 350 degrees. Place the veggie burger patties in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air Fry for 10 to 13 minutes flipping half way through.

    Tips for using Air Fryers

The air fryer is so great for cooking simple basic food like chicken, steak, and eggs. Cook up some air fryer chicken breasts for the week and use the chicken for quesadillas, salads, or DIY chipotle burrito bowls.

Some air fryers require preheating and some do not. Be sure to check your air fryer manual.  If the food ever burns or doesn’t cook properly this could be why the recipe didn’t work for you.

Cooking Times: Please note that all air fryers do not cook the same. Might have to adjust cooking time accordingly.  Thank you.

Overcrowding: Do not overcrowd the basket. Place items in a single layer in the air fryer basket or some food will not cook properly or all the way through.

Oil: One of the reasons why air fryers are so great is because food doesn’t need a lot of oil. Especially frozen food. Just a small amount is fine or use Cooking Spray.

What air fryer do I use? Cosori 4 Qt Air Fryer- This air fryer doesn't require any preheating and has several different functions for cooking chicken, meat, frozen foods, etc. There are 5 different functions.
