If you're looking for a creamy, flavorful dressing that is lighter than traditional ranch, this Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing is about to become a staple in your kitchen. Made with simple ingredients and packed with fresh flavor, this homemade ranch dressing is perfect for salads, veggie trays, wraps, sandwiches, and more.

One of the best things about making ranch dressing from scratch is that you know exactly what goes into it. Greek yogurt adds a rich, creamy texture while providing extra protein compared to traditional ranch dressings. The combination of herbs, garlic, onion powder, and tangy yogurt creates a dressing that tastes fresh and delicious with every bite.

Whether you're meal prepping for the week or need a quick dip for fresh vegetables, this easy Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing comes together in just minutes and tastes far better than many store-bought options.

I love greek yogurt on this site it goes so well with Greek Yogurt Onion Dip, Mashed Potatoes with Greek Yogurt, Strawberry Yogurt Cake, and Protein Yogurt Parfaits

Make this ranch dressing to make these great other recipes with One Pot Ranch Chicken Pasta, Veggie Ranch Pizza, or Air Fryer Baked Potatoes.

    Why This Works

    • Made with simple pantry ingredients
    • Higher in protein thanks to Greek yogurt
    • Ready in less than 5 minutes
    • Great as both a dressing and dip
    • Easy to customize to your taste preferences
    • Stores well in the refrigerator
    • Perfect for salads, wraps, sandwiches, and vegetables

    Ingredients for Ranch Dressing

Ingredients needed for homemade ranch dressing.
    • Milkย  - ย I used unsweetened almond milk to keep the points low but any type of milk will work. Just adjust the points in the recipe builder. ย
    • Greek Yogurt - Non-Fat, plainย
    • Mayonnaise - Low Fatย or reduced fat
    • Dry Buttermilk - can be found next to the powdered milk usually in the baking aisleย
    • Dried parsley Parsley is a type of herb that is commonly used as a garnish or seasoning in various dishes. It has a bright green color and a mild, slightly bitter taste. Parsley is a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as minerals such as potassium and iron.
    • Dill is known for its distinctive flavor, which is somewhat tangy and reminiscent of licorice
    • Dried chives are a versatile and flavorful herb that can be used in a variety of dishes. Chives are a member of the onion family and have a mild, onion-like flavor. When dried, chives can be stored for a long time and still retain their flavor.Garlic powder is made from dehydrated garlic cloves and like the chili powder above it gets pulverized into a powder or flour consistency.
    • Onion powder is dehydrated, ground onion that is commonly used as a seasoning. Some people do not like the taste of freshly chopped onion so onion powder is a great substitute if you have a picky eater like that in your house.ย
    • Salt and Black pepperย

How to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

Dry Seasoning Mix: In a medium bowl, whisk all dry ingredients to combine. Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator or pantry.

Dry ingredients for ranch dressing mixed in a bowl.

In a large bowl, combine the milk, yogurt, and mayonnaise. Whisk to combine then add in 1 oz or 2 tablespoons of the dry ranch powder mix. Whisk again until the seasonings and dressing are well combined.

Dry ingredients mixed with wet ingredients for ranch dressing.

Store in air tight container and serve with whatever you use to dip ranch in.

Pro Tips for Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing

    • Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture.
    • Add extra milk if you prefer a thinner dressing for salads.
    • For a thicker dip, reduce the milk slightly.
    • Fresh herbs can be substituted for dried herbs when available.
    • Let the dressing chill before serving for the best flavor.
    • Make a double batch if you enjoy using ranch throughout the week.
    • Taste before serving and adjust salt and pepper to your preference.

    Storage

Store Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing in an airtight container or mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Because this dressing contains fresh dairy ingredients, it should remain refrigerated at all times. Stir well before serving, as some separation may occur during storage.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I use regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt?

Yes, but Greek yogurt creates a thicker and creamier dressing. Regular yogurt will produce a thinner consistency.

How can I make the dressing thinner?

Add additional milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your preferred consistency.

    Can I use fresh herbs?

Absolutely. Fresh dill and parsley add wonderful flavor and can be substituted for dried herbs.

Is Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing healthy?

Greek yogurt provides protein and can be lower in fat and calories than traditional ranch dressing, making it a lighter alternative.

I don't get what you mean when you say that. The recipe states 1/2 cup mayo. Not 1/4 cup.

It didnโ€™t specify the amount of reduced fat just says 1/2 reduced fat. Then in ww recipe she has 1/4 so I did it wrong. Also reduced fat is different from light Mayo which I also messed up so mine will be 2 pts. Itโ€™s delicious though. But again low fat and light are different.

Mayonnaise: Hellmann's Real mayonnaise v Hellmann's Lighter than Light mayonnaise. The difference: there's 79% fat in normal mayo (of which 6.6% is saturates) and just 3% in Lighter than Light mayo (of which 0.5% saturates)โ€ฆ a huge differen

Sometimes I will call light mayo reduced fat mayo like it says in the recipe. It's 1/2 cup.
