This air fried fish filet sandwich is almost an exact replica of Mcdonald’s Filet O Fish sandwich but it is much healthier and not deep fried in a lot of oil!

Sometimes we are all in a hurry, so we head out to a fast food joint or use a packaged item to help up us save time for more convenience. Those packaged frozen breaded fish are super loaded with extra sodium and other ingredients you don’t know about. Plus fast food items are usually deep-fried in oil with a lot of fat! It’s just as easy to bread and super quick to make your own breaded fish at home.
Have you ever tried making your own fish sandwich in the air fryer? It tastes so much better and there’s way less oil involved if you use an air fryer. Don't have an air fryer? You can pan-fry the fish or bake them in your oven instead.
The air fryer is one of my favorite kitchen appliances. Check out some of these recipes! Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan, Air Fryer Oreos with Crescent Roll Dough, Air Fryer Grilled Cheese, and Air Fryer Toasted Ravioli.

Ingredients Needed
- White fish filets - Such as cod, tilapia, halibut, or walleye - Any white fish will work for this. Walleye, cod, or halibut are some really good choices. My first choice is always walleye, but I did not have any walleye in my fridge at the time.
- Old Bay Seasoning - Old Bay seasoning is a blend of herbs and spices that was developed in the Chesapeake Bay area of the United States. The seasoning typically contains celery salt, black pepper, paprika, and other spices plus it has a strong, savory flavor.
- Egg, beaten with a fork or whisk
- Panko bread crumbs - are a type of breadcrumb commonly used in Japanese cuisine. Panko bread crumbs can be found in most grocery stores and are often used as a substitute for traditional breadcrumbs in recipes.
- Low fat American Cheese Singles
- Light hamburger buns or brioche buns (will be more points)

Recipe FAQs
An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that cooks by circulating hot air around the food using the convection mechanism. It is a downsized version of the convection oven.
If you are researching air fryers and looking to buy the best ones out there on the market I have tried and tested 2 different ones before. If you want to be able to cook more food for your family at once then get an air fryer with a large basket such as 5.3 quarts. Look for ones that say nonstick on them and has multiple program settings.
Power XL Air Fryer 5.3 Quart Basket.
Some air fryers require preheating and some do not. Be sure to check your air fryer manual. Â
