Skinny Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Buffalo wings are super easy to make in the air fryer and are the perfect party food for game day. If you are counting points and are on WW please be aware that chicken wings are more points because of skin, but you can buy skinless boneless wings at the store for less points. It is not the bone that makes the chicken more points.

I’m typically a fan of boneless wings with buffalo wing sauce and I like to dip them in ranch dressing.

How to make Air Fryer Chicken Wings

  1. Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket and set the temp to 400 degrees F and set the timer to 20 minutes
  2. After the 20 minutes are done, take the chicken wings out and place them in a medium bowl. Add the ranch seasoning mix to the chicken and toss the wings to coat with the ranch seasoning. Add the buffalo sauce and continue to toss the chicken wings in the bowl until everything is well coated.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Chicken Wings

  • The points for this recipe will vary depending on what type of wings you get. I have listed how many points for pound different types of chicken wings are. If you are looking to cut out some points for chicken wings it is best to use chicken wings without skin. Just 1 chicken wing with skin and bone is 6 points according to the WW app.
  • Chicken, wing, raw, without skin – 10  points for 1 pound
  • Chicken, wing, cooked, with skin, with bone – 31 for 1 pound

It’s not so much the skin, but the fact that the skin holds the fat in the meat when cooked. With out the skin the fat is able to cook out of the meat. And yes, a wing with skin cooked is 8 points.

Wings are more points because of the skin. Not the bone.

should it not be fewer points, as none of us eat the bone…do we?

I’m going to try wings in my airfryer soon! Just got mine for Christmas! I think I will try one tip I read about. Steam the wings 10 minutes before air frying. Removes a lot of the fat!!!!!
